Countdown to the Next Federal Holiday

This countdown always points at whichever of the 11 official US federal holidays comes next: New Year's Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas. Once one passes, it automatically rolls forward to the next one on the list. By default it targets the holiday itself — switch to the last workday before it, and set your own time and time zone, with the dropdowns below.

Which holidays does this include?

All 11 official US federal holidays, with the standard observed-date rule applied: a holiday that falls on a Saturday is observed the Friday before, and one that falls on a Sunday is observed the following Monday.

I want a specific holiday, not just the next one.

Most federal holidays also have their own dedicated countdown page — see the list below.

Can I count down to the last workday before it instead?

Yes — the Day dropdown below the countdown switches between "On the holiday" and "Last workday before," and you can set your own time and time zone too. Your choice is saved on this device.
