About Travis Kelce

One of the greatest tight ends ever to play, Kelce anchored the Kansas City Chiefs' three Super Bowl wins, co-hosts the chart-topping New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, and is one half of the most talked-about couple in America with Taylor Swift.

The lost season and the brother who saved it

Kelce arrived at the University of Cincinnati as a quarterback, then lost the entire 2010 season to a suspension after a failed drug test. His older brother Jason, already a Bearcats lineman, walked into the coaches' offices and argued for a second chance. Travis got it, on one condition: a move to tight end. The position switch he never planned became his superpower, and in 2013 the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him 63rd overall.

Thirty-five catches, and Jerry Rice in the rearview

In February 2025, in his fifth Super Bowl, Kelce passed Jerry Rice for the most receptions in Super Bowl history, running his total to 35. It capped a run of three championships with the Chiefs (Super Bowls LIV, LVII and LVIII) and a regular-season resume no tight end can match: seven straight 1,000-yard seasons, plus the single-season tight end record of 1,416 receiving yards in 2020, set in just 15 games.

Eighty-Seven & Running

Kelce founded the Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation in 2015, named for his jersey number, to help underserved kids in Kansas City and Cleveland build skills in education, STEM, athletics and the arts. He has contributed nearly $2 million over the years to Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City center serving children in poverty, and the foundation has committed $800,000 more to its communities over three years. His annual Car Jam car show raises money for the cause.
