Five roommates, one backyard, 200,000 views

Tyler Toney, Cody Jones, Garrett Hilbert, and twins Coby and Cory Cotton were Texas A&M roommates goofing around in Tyler's backyard when they filmed 'Backyard Edition' in April 2009 - a string of ridiculous basketball trick shots. Within a week it had 200,000 views and a mention on Good Morning America. The formula never changed: real shots, real celebrations, no fakery - just five friends who kept raising the hoop until the whole world was watching.

533 feet of nothing but net

In 2016 the guys dropped a basketball shot from the top of the 533-foot Cotter Ranch Tower in Oklahoma City - a Guinness World Record for the greatest height from which a basketball has been shot. In a single record-setting session that year they racked up 11 Guinness trick-shot records. Today the channel has more than 60 million subscribers, making it one of the biggest sports channels on YouTube, with sold-out arena tours and a headquarters in Frisco, Texas.

Every 100,000 views, a kid gets sponsored

Dude Perfect's second-ever video, filmed at the Christian summer camp Sky Ranch, came with a pledge: for every 100,000 views, the group would sponsor a child through Compassion International. The video sailed past 18 million views, and the partnership never stopped - Cory Cotton is a longtime child sponsor himself, and the group's 2025 tour offered fans two free tickets for sponsoring a child through Compassion before the show. Trick shots that literally feed kids.
