From the Econo checkout to the world

Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio was bagging groceries at an Econo supermarket in Vega Baja and studying audiovisual communication at the University of Puerto Rico when he uploaded a self-produced track called 'Diles' to SoundCloud in January 2016. It spread through Puerto Rico's trap scene until DJ Luian heard it and signed him to Hear This Music. Within three years, the supermarket cashier was the most-streamed artist on the planet.

History in Spanish, twice over

Bad Bunny was Spotify's most-streamed artist globally three years running, and Un Verano Sin Ti spent 13 weeks atop the Billboard 200 before becoming the first Spanish-language album ever nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy. In February 2026 he finished the story: Debi Tirar Mas Fotos became the first Spanish-language album to win it, a week before he headlined the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

Good Bunny: a bet on Puerto Rico's kids

His Good Bunny Foundation, founded in 2018 in San Juan, puts music, art, and sports in the hands of Puerto Rican kids: its Bonita Tradicion holiday drive handed out some 20,000 gifts in December 2022, and the Un Verano Contigo summer camp brings industry pros to teach underserved youth. His 2025 hometown residency, No Me Quiero Ir de Aqui, drew roughly 600,000 fans over 31 shows and poured an estimated $200 million-plus into Puerto Rico's economy.
